There is a reason we live in the Bay Area. It is tremendous. And the ice cream is good, too.
I recommend driving to The Warming Hut and hiking up the 1/2 mile to the Golden Gate bridge. It is a wonderful way of appreciating the local nature and the bridge.
Seriously. I could not love your family any more. What a great "staycation." We had one too, but our trips were to Safari Run and Sky High Sports. I spent hours of my labor with sam walking back and forth from the warming hut to the bride, stopping every few minutes to squat out the contractions. I agree it's a little slice of heaven, that area.
